Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use a web application. They help the platform remember your preferences, maintain your session, and improve your overall experience. This policy covers all cookies and similar tracking technologies used by AUTOBIZ on our web platform at autobiz.lk.
2. Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Required for the AUTOBIZ platform to function. These include authentication tokens (JWT), session management cookies, and security tokens used to protect your account. You cannot opt out of essential cookies — disabling them will prevent you from logging in or using the platform.
- auth-token: Stores your authentication session to keep you logged in
- csrf-token: Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks
- session-id: Maintains your active session across pages
Preference Cookies
Remember your settings such as theme preference (light/dark mode), language selection, and dashboard layout. These enhance your experience but are not required for core functionality.
- theme-preference: Stores your light/dark mode selection
- ui-state: Remembers sidebar collapse/expand states and UI preferences
Analytics Cookies
Help us understand how you use the platform so we can improve it. These cookies collect anonymized usage data such as which pages are visited most often and where users encounter difficulties. No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.
3. Meta Platform & Social Channel Data
AUTOBIZ integrates with Meta's platforms (WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram). It is important to understand how data flows between our platform and Meta:
- No Meta tracking cookies are set on autobiz.lk for advertising or retargeting purposes.
- When you connect your Meta Business account (WhatsApp, Facebook Page, or Instagram account), Meta may set its own cookies on its own platforms as part of the OAuth authorization flow. These are governed by Meta's Cookie Policy, not ours.
- Access tokens obtained from Meta (WhatsApp Cloud API tokens, Page Access Tokens) are stored securely in our encrypted database — not in browser cookies.
- Customer conversations processed through WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram are handled via server-to-server API calls and are not stored in browser cookies.
4. AI Processing & Session Data
When our AI agent processes customer messages on WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram, the processing happens entirely on our secure servers. No AI conversation data is stored in browser cookies. Specifically:
- Customer message content is processed server-side via AI APIs and stored in our encrypted database
- Opt-out states (STOP/UNSUBSCRIBE) are stored in our database and Redis cache — not in cookies
- Conversation deduplication tokens are stored in Redis with a 5-minute TTL — not in browser cookies
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View and delete existing cookies
- Block all cookies (note: blocking essential cookies will prevent platform login)
- Block third-party cookies specifically
- Receive notifications when cookies are set
Browser-specific instructions:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Note: Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging into the AUTOBIZ dashboard. Disabling preference cookies will reset your UI settings on each visit.
6. Opt-Out from AI Messaging (Not Cookies)
If you are a customer who has received messages through a business using AUTOBIZ (via WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram), your opt-out rights are separate from cookie settings. To stop receiving automated AI messages:
- Reply STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE in the WhatsApp, Messenger, or Instagram conversation
- Email support@autobiz.lk with the subject "Opt-Out Request"
See our Privacy Policy — Section 8 for full opt-out details.
7. Third-Party Cookies
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels for retargeting. Any third-party cookies are limited to essential service integrations required for platform operation. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertising networks.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new platform features. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
